Make the same product, but sell it to a new audience. Like now companies are making the products, that the small business can use, which means the companies now can make more money and the small businesses can use the product.
They can do this as long as the companies arent making any false claims.

The Six-Step Guide to Pricing Your Product
BY: Lisa LoMatta
She was basically telling you how to come up with a good price for your product, how to get it our there, and how to find out what the people want, and she named it in six steps. At first she was telling how you can brand it, like a genric brand would be cheaper, or a brand that offers more things would look more apealing, and you could charge more. Then the second step was the qualitative research. And she went on like that basically breaking down all the things you need to come up with a good price, and marketing strategy.

http://www.blackenterprise.com/Pageopen.asp?source=/archive2004/10/1004-43.htmTEENPRENEUR AWARD CAMILLE WINBUSHCamille Winbush turned her appetite for a sweet-flavored frozen treat into a profitable business that has earned her the BE Teenpreneur Award. This award identifies entrepreneurs under the age of 18 who are role models and are committed to advancing the rich tradition of black business achievement. With plans to open another ice cream shop, it is clear that Winbush is not taking her prosperity as a sign to slow down. The 14-year-old co-star of The Bernie Mac Show decided to open Baked Ice, a Pasadena, California-based ice cream shop over a year ago. "I wanted to try something new that no other kid that I know of has done before. Usually they'll start something with fashion, but ice cream was different." Winbush used the money generated from her career as a professional actress to start Baked Ice. Baked Ice provides 16 different ice cream flavors amid smooth jazz and occasional poetry readings. In addition to being a budding actress, Winbush is a hands-on businesswoman. She was directly involved with finding the location of her business, determining its hours of operation, and creating recipes. In 2003, Baked Ice grossed $120,000, which is $30,000 more than she anticipated. Winbush's company is destined to grow as she garners patrons by way of ice cream socials and various promotional events. Winbush wants to attend college to study archeology or forensic science. The country may be amazed by Winbush's business sense; however, she is not surprised about her insight. Winbush says, "It's just in my blood to have that entrepreneurial spirit."

Start your own (ad)venture
This article was about how people got a head start and started their business while they young. It was also talking about how most of their ideas were what they thought their peers needed, and what they were interested in. One of the big examples was the boys who invented Google. They created it because they wanted a new way to surf the internet and search for things, so while they were in their Standford Dorm they created the the system back rub and changed it too google in 1998. Now they are billionaires. It was just giving a whole bunch of examples like that telling about how they came up with ideas and got things started, and what some are doing now to get their business or idea launched.

The article was basically saying that running a real estate brokerage isn't easy. It was saying that you need to know the fundamentals, what permits you need, what kind of technology you need, and stuff like that. It also mentioned this man named Stephen Shapiro who is very successful and has the commission of the sale of the Hearst Mansion in Beverly Hills, and their asking price is 165 million. Its also telling you if you're interested, then you need to look on Forbes, because they're breaking down what you need and the steps you have to go through.

Current Event:Make the clothes, outsource the retailing
http://www.forbes.com/entrepreneurs/entresales/2007/07/17/apple-cisco-infosys-ent-manage-cx_cs_0717vineyard.html
My article is about these brothers names Shep and Ian Murray who created the cothing line,Vineyard Vines. There problem was, that the stores where just selling diffrent items of there clothes, but there was no place for you to go to get, the whole line of there clothes. So at first they wanted a store owner to open up like a small little shop of just there clothes, but the owner laughed at the idea. So they opened up stores in diffrent locations, and instead of running it themselves, they hired other people to do it. They still picked what goods were put in the store, and what they used to decorate the store. So when that first store did very well, they opened up another one, and another one. Now they have about 5 stores. This has tripled there revenue since 2004 to 37million.

Conversations w/ a teen entrepenuer
The article was about this boy named Ben Cathers who is a young entrepenuer. He started this Web marketing, and advertising business when he was 12. He is now 19. They basically interviewed him askin him his opinion, how he did it, what they need to do, and stuff like that. He gave alot of good tips that somebody who is young just starting a business should know. Like when he was talking about how you should know your customers and, what they want. He also said that is was easy goin after customers that was his own age because he knows what they want and all that, and that was an advantage. He also started a radio show too. They was also talking about a way to do market research. Like he said you should use the internet, like google for example because its free. It was a good article.

Spectacular Catch By Harris Denies Mets Win
http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/mets/ny-spmets105326986aug10,0,5982326.story?track=rss
Every time the Mets play the braves, most of the times they lose, and it sorta expected every time they play the braves. So they played the Braves in a four game series, and thanks to Willie Harris, the left-fielder for the Braves from Cairo,Ga, we the last of the four games.
Delgado for the Mets hit a long drive to the left center, and it looked like it was going to be a home run in the bottom of the ninth, and that would of put the Mets ahead of the Braves by one, and it would of probably won them the game. But Willie Harris luckily leaped into the air and made the catch, which caused them the third out, letting the Braves win!!!!

Results of my Entrepreneurial Aptitude Test
My score was 60 and its says that I may not want to start a business by myself. It says that I should look for a business partner the makes up in the areas that I lack. It says that a partner might bring difficulties that I might not want, but I think i can deal with that. It also says that I need to make certain decisions for the right reasons.
-But I still want to start my own business one day, because i don't want to work a 9-5.

An Ace in Volleyball is when you serve the ball over and they aren't able to touch it, and you get a point. So your goal when you hit the volleyball is to get an ace.
* With the logo im saying if you come to my store then you can buy whatever you need and train too.
* I picked the military symbol because, to me it symbolizes like strenght and all that.
*The lighting strike in the A symbolizes that its hard, like an ace and a hit should be. Any player would want to come in this store once they've seen the sign.
5-Years-My Goals
Well hopefully in 5 years I will be a junior in college. The reason is because I want to get a dual scholarship off of volleyball, and track and field. I want to play D1, and one of the D1 schools I want to go to is Cal in California outside of Oakland. They have a really good volleyball team, and their track team is good too. I want my career to involve sports. Like sports medicine, or a trainer,or manager,or even playing the sport myself. If I go to California I have an option of all of those. If i get older and I'm still playing volleyball, I can get into beach volleyball, and its real big out there. Even with track, its great places to train in California. I also want to have a good boyfriend, so hopefully when i graduate we can get married. If not in California, I'll do it over here.

About How to Wow
The article was basically giving us a bunch of pointers on how to act and dress for an interview. It was telling us to be on time. It was also telling us how we need to dress for the part and not to overdo things like perfume and cologne and stuff like that. It was also talking about how you need to act professional before you even step in the building, like how you should keep a cool professional demeanor even when you get out the car. It was also talking about how you need to get some information about the place your trying to get a job at so it will at least show that your interested, and that youv'e done your homework. The article can help you with alot of things if youv'e never been interviewed before. But most of the stuff they were talking about was common sense, the only thing that they said that people need to watch out for is over doing things and not being late, and getting some information about the place you are trying to work for, other than that it was straight.

I would like to start a business like Courtnie's because volleyball players need a store like that near by. We either have to order it offline or drive somewhere in downtown Atlanta,or near Lenox or something.
The only thing I different from her business, is that I want it to be a store for all sports during their season with emphasis on volleyball all year, but I want a training center in the store. Like you can buy all your stuff from there, but you can also pay for training. I want to hire coaches and they can use the gym. If a player wants to try out equipment and get extra help , you can request a coach and set up an appointment. You can pay by week or get a membership, and if your not sure about joining, you can pay a coach by the hour.
Name:Ace-Hits Sports Gym
Slogan-Buy the best and train to be the best.
